We use rolling maintenance that updates one node, switch, or server at a time while redundant paths keep the rest of the ED live. Firewalls, EHR workstations, and imaging links are staged and tested before any change reaches a treatment room. You never see a scheduled outage because there is always a failover carrying the load.
